Basic Gentle Warmup: Step-by-Step

This is the step one of step one, a breakdown of a basic dance warmup. Use this program if:

  • you are brand new to dance;
  • you want a fresh start with dance;
  • you want to be very informed about moving safely, because of physical limitations or other concerns;
  • you tried a different version of this warmup and wondered if you were moving correctly;
  • you are an aspiring dance teacher and want to increase your knowledge of what different bodies need;
  • you’re a somatic junkie and can’t get enough “how,” and “why;”
  • you want to build a strong foundation.

Autumn would love for everyone to start here, but she knows that some people are not fans of lecture format. So if this program is not for you, just pick out a different warmup!
