“Easy” Turkish Drop: Part 6 Rib Cage Isolations, Backbends, and Sways Movement Breakdowns
The “easy” Turkish drop is not exactly easy, and not a beginner move, but it is a relatively accessible way for dancers of varying abilities to make a dramatic back-bending descent to the floor. Rather than folding the whole way into a reclining hero’s pose, “Easy” Turkish Drop resolves with weight supported on the forearm and with hips lifted up off of the floor. “Easy” Turkish Drop is a great low-risk alternative to full Turkish drops: it reads with much of the same dynamic flair as the full version, without the same demands of elite physicality. “Easy” Turkish Drop is also a great starter move for students who are their way to building the full version.
